Unity
In his book The Pursuit of God, A.W. Tozer paints a beautiful picture of what true unity looks like. He writes: “Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So, one hundred worshipers [meeting] together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become ‘unity’ conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.” That’s what real unity looks like - it’s not about trying harder to get along; it’s about each of us being tuned to Christ.
This Sunday, guest speaker and Reach Church member Rev. Grant Hasty will unpack this idea from Ephesians 4. In this passage, the Apostle Paul’s “therefore” marks a shift from principle to practice, from doctrine to duty. It’s a call to look back at what God has done and move forward with purpose.
We all need guidance on what that looks like in our own lives. So come join us this Sunday as we learn together to be in tune with God’s plan for uniting us as one body.
Nothing But Jesus,
