My Permanent Address

The concept of abiding in Christ is often misunderstood as something requiring constant effort or daily decisions. However, just as we don't need to try to live at our physical address, abiding in Christ is about recognizing our permanent spiritual residence. When we come to faith, we experience a permanent change of spiritual address - from death to life, from enemy to child, and from being in Adam to being in Christ. This union with Christ is sealed by the Holy Spirit and isn't dependent on our performance. It's a present reality that transforms our identity and security. The evidence of abiding in Christ includes understanding the Gospel, experiencing the Holy Spirit's guidance, and bearing spiritual fruit naturally rather than through striving. This permanent position in Christ cannot be revoked, and no one can snatch us from God's hand.
